Lianne was born in 1954 in Perth, Western Australia and was educated in Perth, Sydney, Chicago (USA) and Canberra.   She attained a Diploma of Art and Design from the Gordon Institute in 1976,  and studied as a postgraduate at the New York Studio School in 1976 on an Arts Council Scholarship.

Portraits are Lianne’s favourite type of work - be they depicting formal or casual portraits of a person,  a pet,  or of a favourite animal.
